I'm a Fan

So, my Seattle Seahawks are going to the Super Bowl for the second time...ever...YAY! And per usual the best fan gear doesn't come in my size...sigh.  I have a Junk Food sweatshirt that I recently bought from the Pro Shop while in Seattle for Christmas.  I found the last XXL and wiggled my way into it...I'm a proud fan and I like to look cute while I cheer...so why is it so hard to get the best of the best in my size?  Don't you want my money retailers?

I went ahead and bought this super cute Super Bowl tee pictured below in an XL...wish me luck!  Here's hoping it runs big.

Three-Quarter Raglan T-Shirt

$44.95

Torrid joined the NFL Fan club this year with a super narrow selection...I loved that the t-shirts were v-neck and didn't feel frumpy dumpy Plus Size-esk.  Here's hoping they do more next year and have options for all of the teams.

Lane Bryant also showed up with a promising collection...though again lacking options for all teams so maybe next year I'll get to give them a little more  of my money.  They did however come out with a great Super Bowl top featuring this years teams...and I can't help but love seeing my Hawks on top!  Here are a few of my favorite styles they offered this year...foil graphics, raglan sleeves and repeat prints!

With Straight Size lines like Victoria's Secret PINK and Junk Food offering such cute options it becomes frustrating to track down something you'd be excited about wearing on game day.  Touch by Alyssa Milano ranges from size XS - 4X...but my very petite friend that normally wears a small had to get an XL to fit her!  I have two items from the line, both in 4X...and I have no wiggle room...but I normally wear a 2X or a size 20...not so fun for the girls needing larger sizes than that.  Oh, and the Touch line rarely goes above an XL.

Get Outta Town

It's no secret...I LOVE City Chic tankinis...they're not even paying me to say it!  I love looking at their Australian site to get a preview of what's to come to the US site.  Pretty sure I need these beach cover-ups for my next trip to Maui!

On beachy vacations I spend 80% of the day in my tankini...and when I'm not in the water I want to jam around and look cute while doing it!  Here's hoping these become available on citychiconline.com soon!

Comfortable Casual

For the longest time I struggled with putting together looks that were both comfortable and casual...it seems like it would be an easy task really...but for me it always came down to the shoes.

Comfortable shoes...not always so cute!  At any rate...I'm now more than comfortable building outfits I love to wear and feel comfortable rocking all day long...could have something to do with my growing shoe collection!

Resolution

So I'm anti resolutions usually...people don't keep them...they are usually pretty crazy...and I don't agree with them being set once a year, if you want to change something just do it.

That said, my friend and blogger of The Curvy Fashionista Marie Leggette posted the video below to her facebook page recently asking "Are you guilty of this?" and I had to say yes.

I'm guilty of "Fat Talking"...I figure people are already thinking these things about me so if I say them jokingly I'm in control...but it's sad.  I want to be a mother...like yesterday...and I wouldn't want to pass "Fat Talk" on to my children.  And honestly, "Fat Talking" about myself doesn't do any good...so...I'm going to do two things.  I'm going to make a New Years Resolution but I'm starting it now!  It's going to be hard, all habits are hard to break...but this is a habit that needs breaking.

I'd love to hear your thoughts...post your comments below!

ModCloth: Uniquely You Challenge

Just last week I received an email from ModCloth's Lead Stylist Amy about their weekly Polyvore Challenge, Uniquely You.

My mission: Amy sends an item and I build a complete look incorporating said item...post it to my blog and that's that!  Oh, and there is a contest...the winning outfit gets featured on ModCloth's Polyvore page.

Allow me to breakdown my selections.

Featured Style: When the Night Comes Dress in Nior by BB Dakota Available Here
Earrings: Dramatic Style Earrings Available Here
Coat: Press Preview Coat Available Here
Bag: Cambridge Satchel Upwardly Mobile Satchel Available Here
Shoes: Waltz With Me Heel Available Here
Shapewear: Smooth Your Soul Contouring Shorts Available Here

It wasn't much of a challenge to complete this outfit...you can't really go wrong with an LBD...but I'll explain why I chose what I chose.

I wanted to keep it simple and elegant, the earrings are beautiful but they don't compete for attention with the dress.

The coat  however is a statement piece...and here's why...I find that often during the Fall and Winter Season I end up at an event that I don't want to remove my coat at because it's just too cold.  I hate getting dolled up only to have my outfit hidden by my outerwear...it's like doing a slammin job on your eye makeup and you're stuck wearing sunglasses the whole day!

The bag is simple yet versitle, it can be worn day to night...I'm a proud owner of a Cambridge Satchel bag and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

The shoes are classic and versitle as well, I'm a big fan of buying something that you can wear more than once.

Lastly, the shapewear...not for the purpose of slimming and smoothing but in the interest of protecting myself from chafing...if I'm not wearing pants, tights or leggings I need these puppies in my aresenal!

I hope you like what I've put together...let me know what you think...leave your comments below!
