Haute Cash Haul

To say I have a shopping problem is an understatement...but I work hard...no for real...I hustle!  My other excuse...I work in the Fashion Industry...so I have to look good and stay current right?!

Torrid has been passing out Haute Cash with purchases now for over a month...and now is the time to spend it...well it started April 18th and runs through April 28th.  I...ah hem...earned $125 in Haute Cash and this is what I just bought...

I pretty much stalked this tank like it was my part time job...and it paid off...one just happened to be available in my size...lets just say I couldn't checkout fast enough!

I've been loving my first two sleeveless button-up tops I purchased in early March so much I knew I needed to have these two.  I've always struggled with woven tops...add a button-up to the scenario and they almost always don't work.  I'm a strong believer that if you love it...own it in as many colors as you want...besides I get tons of complements on my first two!

Online Shopping Woes

Usually I'm here telling you why you should get over your reasons to not shop online...and though I firmly believe it can work out and not be the biggest pain in the ass...the truth is...sometimes it just is!

I'm not a fan of paying for shipping...I don't want to pay to get it and I don't want to pay to send it back if it doesn't work out.  If I can't try it on in a store...I shouldn't have to pay to get it or give it back when the fit doesn't work...or if the product doesn't look as fabulous as it did online.

I was obsessed with these pants on site...but you see I don't own any knit pants and I was worried about the fit.  Simply Be does offer great discounts here and there but they do charge for shipping both ways...$4.95 to get it to you and $6.95 if your order didn't work out for some reason...and even with your best efforts of getting your right size it still burns to pay one way or both.

So, I reached out via their facebook fan page and twitter...I asked about fit...twice...if I was going to pay for shipping it would only be once...assuming I liked how these looked on me.  But I never heard back...and now these amazing bottoms are only available in sizes 8 and 24.  Sigh.

Don't get me wrong...I still love Simply Be and will continue to shop with them...I'm just hoping that retailers will realize that the Plus Size Community is reaching out to them and we're not hoping for answers...we expect them.

The Right Stripes

I fell in love with this woven tank as soon as I saw it...it could have something to do with the fact that it features two bold pink stripes...I love pink!  But I'm also in love with a great woven top...they just look like you tried a little harder...sorry knits!

Looking for a comfortable pair of boyfriend jeans?  These are super soft and have a little stretch for added comfort!  Torrid ended up sending me these as a gift...and I'm loving them!  Thank you Torrid!

I styled this head to toe look while attending the "I am Torrid" Blogger Event last month. Myself and 19 other lucky bloggers got to spend a day at Torrid Headquarters checking out Spring/Summer 2013, talking with multiple members of the Torrid team....playing dress up and most importantly providing their team with our feedback.  The Torrid team truly wants to get "it" right for their customer...not an easy task to pull off when you think about what a statement like that means...but it wasn't just them saying it...I could feel that they truly meant it.  The whole team was warm, friendly and hungry for our thoughts from the beginning of the day to its end!

A shot from "I am Torrid" Blogging Event

At the beginning of the month I had the honor of attending a blogging event at Torrid Headquarters.  Pure honesty here people...when the topic of bras came up I was skeptical...I had never even entertained the idea of buying a bra from Torrid...but they talked up this bra that we were told we'd get to try on and I figured I'd go in with an open mind...well as open as it could be.  Trying on and finding a new bra sucks in my opinion...it's one of the most important things I put on everyday and I've never really been excited about my options as a plus size woman.  So...when I had it on and didn't hate the way if felt I looked down to see...to my surprise...how amazing my boobs looked!  Ha!  My current bra was doing its job just fine...but this bra...it just gave that extra oomph!  

Since then I've been checking Torrid's site almost daily to see when I could finally get my hands on one...and now I can!  And so can you!  Your mission...if you chose to except it...got out and try on some Torrid bras...I love the Demi...I'd love to hear what you fall in love with!

Hang-Ups

We all have them for various reasons...but at what point do we let them affect our lives?  

Size hang-ups are big for girls..."I'm a ___ size and I'm not going up just because this or that runs small."...but if you liked it enough to try it on who cares if your a XXL instead of a L.  I know it hurts for a second or longer...and it doesn't always make sense..."I"m always a L in this Brand!" but do you really want to miss out on that cute top or those amazing jeans?  I don't!

I recently bought these pants from Old Navy Women's Plus...they're only available online...and I'm always a 20 these days so that's what I ordered.  When they arrived in the mail they fit everywhere except in the waist...but they were buttery soft...a true skinny and I loved them.  So I swallowed my pride and exchanged them for a 22.  No one would ever know...I do my laundry and the label is on the inside.  

It would be nice to get some consistency when it comes to sizing but I know the process...I'm a Merchandise Product Development Grad of FIDM LA...jeans/pants are the hardest fits to get just right.    

I guess what I'm saying is...if you LOVE it and you can find a size that fits you...just get it!  You can cut the size tag out if it helps!
